Iva was born in Springfield, Illinois. on October 05, 1923
She came to Seattle, WA on the train in 1946 with her two young children to be with her Army Sargent husband Oscar.
Iva lived a very active life. She was a loving and dedicated wife and mother to 8 children. She spent most of her life taking care of her family. Widowed in 1977, Iva began working outside the home at Sears and at Hickory Farms.
After her children were all raised, Iva enjoyed traveling and spent time in Washington and California. She enjoyed camping, going to casinos and her favorite thing was dancing. Clear into her 80's Iva could be found at the Centralia Senior Center at every Friday night dance. She stayed active and lived well in her own apartment until the age of 95.
She spent her last days at home with her daughter Karen Brown Hansen in the loving care of her daughters, Karen, Gail and Phyllis. I(va was 97 years old at her passing.
She was predeceased by her parents George and Irene Spaulding, her siblings Lloyd Spaulding, Mary Spaulding, Irene Spaulding and Evans Spaulding. Her husband of 37 years Oscar Brown, her infant son Larry Brown, Son Wendell Brown and grandson Jeffery Lyman.
