Margaret Louise Hendrickson

August 6, 1937 — September 23, 2022

Margaret Louise Hendrickson, 85, of Kalama, passed away Sept. 23, 2022.


She was born Aug. 6, 1937, in Longview to Oscar and Eleanor (Karnofski) Dudonsky. Margaret graduated from Castle Rock High School in 1955 and attended Lower Columbia College.


On May 1, 1960 she married Larry E. Hendrickson in the Longview Community Church. They had two sons and later divorced.


Margaret was a bookkeeper. She worked for the Fibre papermill, and was the first bookkeeper for Pietro’s Pizza. She was a member of the Amalak Women’s Club, the Kalama United Methodist Church, the Finnish Brotherhood and Grange. She enjoyed time with her family, collecting antiques, word search puzzles, and trips to the coast. Margaret took pride in her family and her appearance. She was loving, quick to smile, independent, and always thinking of others.


Survivors include her sons, Mikal “Mik” Hendrickson (Michelle) and James “Jim” Hendrickson (Kim), both of Longview; four grandchildren, Gage Hendrickson, Rome Hendrickson, Elle Hendrickson and James Manthe, all of Longview; a brother, Richard “Dick” Dudonsky of Castle Rock; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.


Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Elizabeth Flatt; and a brother, Don Dudonsky.


A service is planned for 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21 at Steele Chapel. The Rev. Dave Hendrickson will officiate. Burial will follow at the Kalama IOOF Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Jim Hendrickson, James Manthe, and Henry, Roger, Dave and Jim Karnofski. Margaret’s uncles, Ray and Jerry Karnofski, will serve as honorary casket bearers.
